March 14: St. Paddy’s Day Run Tacoma
This annual run is an out-and-back course starting at 815 Pacific Ave. in downtown Tacoma, winding along the waterfront toward the Point Ruston Waterwalk and Tacoma’s Dune Peninsula Park. With half marathon, 10K and 5K options, the event offers a great excuse to get outside, and participants receive a St. Paddy’s Day Run medal. The first race begins at 8:10 a.m.

March 14: Ceili Social Dance
Celebrate the holiday with an authentic ceili (pronounced KAY-lee) in Tacoma. A ceili is a social gathering featuring Irish music, dancing and storytelling, and no experience is required. A basic dance lesson begins at 7 p.m., followed by music and dancing until 10 p.m. at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 901 N. J St., Tacoma (enter from Ninth Street). Donations are accepted for the musicians, caller and refreshments. All ages and abilities are welcome.

March 14: Tacoma St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Bar Crawl
This pub crawl begins with wristband pickup between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Participants receive free entry to participating bars, two to three included drinks or shots, food specials at various venues, access to a free after-party and a digital bar crawl map with event locations.

March 14: Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl
Check in for this bar crawl at Steel Creek, 1114 Broadway, Tacoma, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to pick up a keychain bottle-opener lanyard and receive access to the pub crawl map, participating bars, the mid- and after-party with no cover, drink and food specials, and several complimentary drinks throughout the evening.

March 15: Parish Feast Day Celebration
Knights of Columbus Council 809 will host a celebration honoring Saint Patrick Parish’s feast day from noon to 3 p.m. at Saint Patrick Church Hall, 1123 N. J St., Tacoma. The event includes a pint of Guinness, green beer or another beverage of choice, along with a traditional Irish meal of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots. Guests can enjoy music, enter to win themed apparel, browse themed items, listen to Irish music and participate in an Irish soda bread contest. Proceeds benefit Care Net of Puget Sound.

March 15: St. Patrick’s Day Comedy Show
Head to the Tacoma Comedy Club at Sixth Avenue and Proctor to celebrate with comedy. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. This event is 18+ with valid ID. A two-item minimum purchase in the showroom is required and may include food or drinks.

March 16: Celtic Light Orchestra and Stark Raving Plaid Party
Join the Celtic Light Orchestra for a multimedia production beginning at 7 p.m. at the McMenamins Spanish Ballroom. The event features Irish jigs and reels, Irish folk songs, LED poi and hula hoop performances, projections and more. The show includes Celtic fiddle performer Katie Jane Lubiens and Seattle-based Celtic rock band Stark Raving Plaid.

March 17: McMenamins St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations
Irish-themed festivities will take place throughout the McMenamins venues at the Elks Temple in Tacoma. Live music, food and drink specials will fill the historic building. Performances include the Clan Gordon Pipe Band at 6 p.m. on the Spanish Steps, Curlew’s Call from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the Fun Police from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Spanish Ballroom. This year’s St. Patrick’s Day exclusive whiskey, Devil’s Bit, will also go on sale Saturday, March 12, at the hotel gift shop.
