Our Dear Community,

The support of our community is key in what we are trying to do at The Weekly Volcano. We want to do more than bring that retro feel and smell of newsprint back to the hands of Tacoma, we want to be more than just an arts and entertainment guide. We want to be a hub for what is important to the everyday person living in Tacoma. We want to be a voice for the unheard, a support to those who need it most.

We hope to bring you the best of what’s happening around town, while also showcasing organizations and individuals doing good in our community, and holding our leaders accountable.

At this point in our journey to bring The Weekly Volcano back to YOU, we are in essence a start-up. Angela bought the name from the previous owners, but that is all. We have no corporate backers, no silent partners. We didn’t even get a built in social following. We are starting from scratch!

While some of our revenue will come from advertising, this is also a slow uphill journey to win over trust in our name and our vision. We don’t want to ONLY rely on this to keep the paper running. How could we?
