  • Prom Take 2 Fundraiser Turns 10
    • Prom Take 2, the annual fundraiser for Ali’s Prom Project, is celebrating 10 years of giving,. On March 7 at 6pm, guests can bid and dance the night away at the Firefighters Union Hall in Tacoma, 1109 S. 50th St.
  • Visiting Artist Residencies at Museum of Glass
    • The Visiting Artist Residency Program brings artists from around the world to the Museum of Glass hot shop to create works with the hot shop team. The residencies create a sense of excitement and wonder as artists explore new directions in their practice that might not be possible in their own studios. Residencies range from single-day to weeklong engagements, and a piece created during each residency is selected for inclusion in the museum’s permanent collection. Local Governance

  • Changes in How Pierce County Tracks Homeless Deaths
    • Years of challenges have led to changes in the way Pierce County tracks and reports the number of homeless individuals who have died. The Health Department’s data-sharing agreement has been amended to include information on homeless status at the time of death. The amendment is expected to improve the accuracy and coordination of mortality data. Advocates say tracking these deaths helps identify public health patterns and secure funding to address the underlying issues.
  • Bicycle and Pedestrian Technical Advisory Group
    • Tacoma’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Technical Advisory Group advises the Transportation Commission on active transportation matters. The group focuses on making it safer and easier to use active transportation in Tacoma, including walking, using mobility devices, bicycling, skating, and riding a skateboard or scooter.   • Working Families Tax Credit
    • The Department of Revenue is accepting applications for the Working Families Tax Credit for tax year 2025. This year, the credit provides up to $1,330 to individuals and families who meet the eligibility criteria. The program returns a portion of sales tax paid each year and is modeled after the federal Earned Income Tax Credit.

  • Ports & Popcorn, Port of Tacoma’s Journey Through Time
    • March 12, the Grand Cinema is continuing its free speaker series with Port of Tacoma historian Rod Koon. In the late 1800s, the fascinating presentation traces pivotal moments that shaped the City of Tacoma, the port and the broader Puget Sound for more than a century.   • Watch Clue the Movie with Miss Scarlet Herself
    • Lesley Ann Warrren, known for her role as Miss Scarlet, is hosting a screening of the movie Clue at the Pantages Theater. Based on the popular board game, the comedy opens at a dinner party hosted by Mr. Boddy admitting to blackmail each of the guests. When Boddy turns up murdered, everyone is a suspect and they must figure out who is the killer. You can meet Lesley in person before the screening adding the meet and greet experience.   • Celebrate Galentine’s in the Sweetest Way Feb 21
    • Grab your besties and join a hands-on cake decorating night where you’ll learn how to decorate your own mini cake while sipping, laughing and making memories. Guests receive a pre-baked cake, frosting in festive colors, variety of piping tips, tools and toppings, step-by-step guidance and a box to take your cake home.   • Tacoma Youth Symphony Presents Going Home
    • March 7, the Tacoma Youth Symphony will explore the many facets of home: the longing and discovery if Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”, the vibrant voice of homegrown talent in TYSA student composer Aiden Ramirez’s La Monarca, and the return to ancient voices in Christopher Theofandis’ Rainbow Body. Student soloist Logan Johnson will also perform Alexander Arutiunian’s Trumpet Concerto in A-Flat Major. Tickets available at tysamusic.org  
  • TAM’s Newest Collection: Legacy
    • Legacy: Highlights from the Permanent Collection is a new exhibition that creates a dialogue between Tacoma Art Museum’s Northwest collection and artworks from other areas. The artworks are in “conversation” which activate the space across time and place. Within Legacy, a new Project Northwest is an exhibition which provides small-scale solo exhibitions for Northwest artists. Check both exhibitions out now at TAM.

Attendees can see high school robotics teams, watch battles, fly a drone, and speak with industry leaders about the next generation of robotic advancement.
