Big Names, Local Talent, One Tacoma Stage

BY MAUREEN PARKER for WEEKLY VOLCANO | 9/18/2026

OK, so boom, with a Certs commercial!

When I tell you this interview hit like a Certs commercial: two, two, two stories in one. I mean, I hit the article lottery with David Hudson.

Today, we’re focusing on an organization driven by a group of music lovers who have taken that love to another level. They’re bringing even more music to Tacoma by putting legendary talent and local musicians together in the same place. After talking with David a little while ago and digging deeper into his musical journey, this guy became more interesting the longer we talked. And that’s not to say he wasn’t already interesting in our first interview. Check out last week’s Volcano article about his group, King Grand. But once we got into everything else he has going on, this just got hella funner. I know it’s not a word; deal with it.

We’re talking about LTD Presents.

You may have already heard of the group because it organized the Downtown Tacoma Blues Festival, held recently in downtown Tacoma. LTD Presents began after David met Tanya Hodel and Lorenzo Farrell during the COVID lockdown days. The three found themselves in the same area, risked it for the biscuit, and started playing together because they missed live music.

While out and about one day with his wife, they stopped at The Spar for a burger and began talking with the manager about bringing live acts back to the venue. David started booking shows there, and Lorenzo mentioned that he was interested in producing ticketed performances. With Tanya’s help, the three became, you guessed it, LTD Presents. Look at COVID giving us more than work-from-home options and unplanned divorces. I should check the homicide rate, but that’s another story…

Many of their shows are held at the Blue Mouse Theatre in Tacoma’s Proctor District. The theater seats approximately 150 people and is the oldest continuously operating movie theater in Washington state. I’ve been there, and it’s adorable. You need to go at least once just to experience the absolute charm of the place.

But back to the subject at hand.

LTD Presents is giving us music EVERYWHERE, not just in Tacoma, but also in Port Townsend, Centralia, and even as far away as Oregon. In September 2026, the Blue Mouse will host a show featuring Kyle Rowland and Anson Funderburgh with the Tacoma All Stars.

They are also bringing Nick Moss and Jason Ricci into the Blue Mouse in October and then Darrell Nulisch and Alex Schultz in November.

The Tacoma All Stars include Brady Kish, David Hudson, Jeff Conlin, Tanya Hodel, and Lorenzo Farrell. I’m telling you this because when LTD Presents books major national and international artists who need a backing band, the Tacoma All Stars are on deck and ready to go.

LTD Presents also hosts a spotlight series at The Spar featuring national artists in that intimate venue. Sponsors help make that happen. I’m a little jarred because I’ve clearly been sleeping on The Spar as a music venue, and I need to step my game up!

And the music isn’t stopping anytime soon. King Grand will play at The Spar on November 11, followed by a winter mini-festival at the Blue Mouse in January 2027 and another blues festival downtown in August 2027. LTD Presents is steadily building a lineup that gives music lovers plenty of reasons to get out of the house.

Now, if you know me, you know I’m not trying to steer folks in the wrong direction or send you outside to waste your time. Time is precious, and if I’m leaving my house, I’m going somewhere I WANNA be and where I know I’m going to enjoy myself.

So guess what? LTD Presents Live is my kind of entertainment-promotion bidness because these folks are gonna give you a good-ass time!
